An impressive Seerat Conference was
organized by Islamic Study Circle J&K, Central Office Balgarden in the
Convocation Centre of Kashmir University on 14th May. The conference
was attended by a large gathering of intellectuals, scholars, professors,
engineers, journalists, students and people from other walks of life. The
gallery was jam packed by women participants. Maulana Yahya Nomani who is the
Director of Higher Institute of Islamic Studies, Lucknow, was the Chief Guest
on the occasion. Other speakers included Justice (R) Bashir Ahmad Kirmani, Maulana
Adnan Nadvi and Dr. Shakeel Shifayee. The conference was presided over by
President, ISC, J&K Er. Nazir Ahmad Gagroo. The speakers laid emphasis on
following the teachings of the Prophet Mohammad (SAW) in letter & spirit
and making him a role-model for our lives. The audience was deeply moved and
inspired by the thought provoking lectures of the speakers especially of Maulana
Nomani and Justice Kirmani who said that the only path of salvation for the
mankind lies in the love of the Prophet and his mission. They explained that
despite the material progress of the West, widespread moral and spiritual
bankruptcy is seen everywhere there and to fill this void in their lives is the
responsibility of Muslims. It is their religious obligation to imbibe the
teachings of the Prophet in their character and propagate his mission to the
world through word and deeds. Zubair Salfi and students of Green Valley
Educational Institute presented Naats on the occasion.
Maulana Yahya Nomani also delivered
Friday Khutbah in the Historical Aali Masjid the following day which was
attended by a large gathering.
