An impressive Prize Distribution
Ceremony of Mahazirat-i-Seerat Exam organized by Islamic Study Circle J&K
(HO Balgarden) was held today the 6th of October in the auditorium
of Govt College of Education, Srinagar. The function was presided over by Jenab
Er. Sofi Gh. Qadir, President of the organization. Retd Justice Bashir Ahmad Kirmani was the Chief Guest and Maulana Mufti
Ab Rashid Miftahi, the Rector of Darul Uloom Bilaliyah was the Guest of Honor
on the occasion. The program was attended by a large gathering which included
prominent personalities of the Valley like Prof. Sheikh M. Iqbal, Dr. Javed
Iqbal, Dr. Gh. Nabi Wani, Jb. Ajaz Ahmad Kakroo, Prof. Nasir Mirza and Ab.
Hamid (Rahim Greens).
The dais was conducted by Dr. Shakeel
Shifayee. The program started with the recitation of Quranic verses by Br. Umar
Manzoor followed by Naati Sharief by Zubair Salfi in his typical style which
moved the gathering to tears. Er. Naseer Ahmad set forth the tone for the
function in his introductory lecture wherein he highlighted the objective of
such activities. He presented a brief profile about the life and works of
author of the prescribed book, Dr. Mahmood Ahmad Ghazi, a person with wealth of
knowledge and wisdom whose contribution in presenting Islamic viewpoint on
varied issues in the East and the West is exemplary. He also stressed the need
to present the true self and message of our beloved Prophet (SAW) which the West
has always tried to tarnish in a twisted and unpleasant manner. This was
followed by presentation of comments by few persons, who participated in the competition,
about the Book and conduct of the exam.
Maulana Mufti Rashid in his lecture
laid emphasis on the actualization of Prophet (SAW)’s seerah in our daily lives. He said that following Prophet’s
footsteps in every walk of our life is necessary which will be bestowed with
the greatest of all rewards- The Love and Mercy of Almighty Allah.
Justice Kirmani in his address
explained the strength and supremacy of Islam’s Ideology which is a tough
challenge for the enemies of Islam. He said that unflinching faith in the
Prophet and love of his mission and person is the panacea of all our problems.
In the clash of civilizations, this is our greatest weapon against our enemies
who are not only fully aware of this reality but are striving hard to replace
this centrality from our hearts and minds.
In his valedictory address Er. Sofi
sahib stressed the importance of study and enriching the knowledge of our great
galaxy of scholars who have made immense contribution to present the pristine
message of Islam, in the past as well as in the contemporary age. In the end
Cash prizes, certificates and Islamic literature were presented to the toppers
of this competition. The top five position holders namely Adil Qadir Langoo S/O Gh. Qadir R/O Habba Kadal, Nur uz Zaman S/O Mahboob Ullah R/O Ajas
Bandipora, Tauseef Ahmad Sheikh S/O
Gh. Hassan R/O Bijbehara, Hafiz Ab
Mannan S/O Fayaz Ahmad R/O Bemina and Saleh
Lateef S/O M. Lateef R/O Chinkral Mohalla were presented with cash prizes
of Rs.15000/-. Rs.12000/-, Rs.9000/-, Rs.7000/- and Rs.5000/- respectively.
